Sorry, i forgot to write this on time, even though i had internet.
Today we were sent to Akoroa (spelt wrong i bet) which is a little french town about 80km from Christchurch, Keith said it was great and well worth a visit. It certainly was and frankly the proximity to the Ocean of so much of New Zealand is awesome, i can well understand why so many people like it. Lunch was at a similar place to that of Hanmer Springs, a place serving good beer from the same brewery, again i had a cider.
The temperature on the car reach an amazing 37 degrees, so it was bloody hot as i think they say over here. Well once that cooled down we head to Little Akaroa and then onto Little River the first a little bay with a beach and the second a nice little village on the way back into Christchurch. Both very pleasant. We did stop on the way back to have a quick look at a local vineyard and of course buy Keith a little token of our appreciation of their kind and generous hospitality. Although that said i think keith did really enjoy having us there.
Dinner was again an amazing meal, they really have pulled out all the stops, catering very well for Tantine and her coeliac and likewise keeping off the spicy foods for me. Oh i forgot to say what dinner was, it was a rack of lamb, Keith started on the barbecue, seared it and let it cook for a good 20 mins, it was perfect. Again fresh veg out the garden, and home made home sourced mint source.
It was really sad to think of it being our last night, it had gone so quickly and every evening was filled with a movie, it was such a warming experience sitting there chatting and just having so much fun, i really hope Mother and Father will come over next year, after all i think spend now as I don’t want too many death duties to pay!
