I’m not sure whether it feels like Day 13 or not, but its’ sure good fun. Had to get up super early today, by around 8 to catch a taxi and then the plane to the lovely Island of New Zealand. Flight wasn’t too bad, but sadly didn’t see the point in paying to turn left so just went for the standard turn right penned in like sheep. It’s pretty crap, very uncomfortable and the food was terrible, where are the scallops, the ice cream.
Anyway we got there and this time i thought I better be honest and own up to the illicit items in my bag, although the drugs i assumed were legal so I scrubbed that from the list. Instead i decided to declare my shoes, yup they want you to declare walking shoes. Well the upshot of this was that having declared them they were spring cleaned with some kind of disinfectant, totally FOC, result. Short of all that they let me in and here i am now in the “Rendezvous Hotel”.
As usual my immense sense of direction had led us to our dinner location on the harbour, a very nice restaurant in the viaduct harbour area, oh btw taxi from airport is $80NZD if you are wondering. Yeah so dinner, very good, top notch pork belly with chevre mash. Just an idea crumble chevre into already mashed potato and serve, its great. Well after a lovely sunset and the most stunning evening sky we finished, walked back to the hotel after of course one coffee and here i am now writing (in interestingish english) this blog.
Not sure whether i’ll upload anymore photos yet or wait until Christchurch, the hotel will only fleece me anyway!
